an{\'a}lises futuras. Essas an{\'a}lises auxiliam no
desenvolvimento da pesquisa referente a raios feita no Instituto
Nacional de Pesquisas Espaciais (INPE). ABSTRACT: Lightning is a
very recurrent atmospheric phenomenon at low latitudes, between
the tropics, warmer and wetter places. The first studies related
to this type of phenomenon were based on the estimation of its
occurrence. With the advancement of technology, it was possible to
acquire images, through high-speed cameras, of the propagation of
these discharges, in addition to physical data such as electric
field signal, electric current and x-lightning produced by the
lightning channel. lightning can be classified in two ways: those
that do not touch the ground (intracloud); and those that maintain
contact with the ground (downward and upward), and can still be of
positive or negative polarity; depending on the polarity of the
charge being transferred to the ground. The lightning analyzed in
this work were positive descendants. This type of discharge
typically occurs at the end of storms, and less frequently due to
the distribution of charges within the cloud. This work presents
the classification of lightning recorded during the summers from
2003 to 2022 in the cities of S{\~a}o Paulo, S{\~a}o Jos{\'e}
dos Campos (Brazil) and Utah (United States) where high-speed
cameras and electric field sensors were installed near the site of
the event. First, a table was developed containing the type of
lightning (intracloud, downward and upward), the polarity
(negative or positive) and the time of its occurrence (acquired
through a GPS antenna). These data were associated with the
ambient electric field, so that the polarity of the electric
discharge was confirmed. Then, the data in the table were compared
with data from the lightning location system (LLS) that identifies
the time and place of the discharges and their current peaks.
Current peaks associated with lightning recorded in videos were
added to the table which will be used in future analyses. These
analyzes help in the development of research related to lightning
carried out at the National Institute for Space Research (INPE).",
